Living in a house full of males, I have to curb any urges I might have while decorating to add floral prints, or frills, or anything too girly. Not that I usually have those kind of urges anyway, I've always been more of the tomboy type...
Anyway. I've decided to put my stamp on two areas that are strictly my domain - my walk in robe and the laundry. So I've started work on some artwork to hang on the walls. I dragged out some 1950s dress patterns I rescued from my Mum's garage sale (found more online too) and traced the outline of the picture on the envelope onto some cartridge paper, then got busy with my watercolour Derwents. The pink one is unfinished, and I've yet to decide on mounts and frames and whether to do something collage-style or just a plain matt, or to add a blingey accent or two...

I thought somebody else might like the idea. Don't hold your breath waiting to see the finished product - I tend to go in fits and starts with these things and can take months to actually get it completed.
Interesting note: I actually made the green dress some years back for a 1950s themed party I went to. Pink polka-dots on a white background. I felt pretty glamorous wearing that dress.
