A friend of mine has wonderful pressed metal cielings... Only trouble is that after nearly 60 years, the paint is starting to peel!
So, my friend has called a few local painters who have absolutely no clue as to what they need to do... Some have said just paint over it... Some have said they would use normal cieling acrylic (which on bare metal will rust), and others have just said "Sorry Love, not interested"...
Has anyone had/know of someone who has had their cielings restored? What was the process? Was it chemically stripped? Heat Stripped? Or just painted over with enamel undercoat, and then topcoated?
As you can imagine, getting up on ladder, and physically scraping off the old paint on ornate metal cielings isn't a real attractive option!
