Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Nov 10, 2009 3:31 pm Hi, I am having trouble trying to pick a good white for my interior walls after the reno is finished. I don't want anything too creamy. Our furnishings will be: Carpets: charcoal - twist kitchen/dining floor: tas oak floorboards kitchen: white doors with black/charcoal benchtops and splashback tiles The paint colours I am thinking of using are Whisper White for all walls, ceiling white for ceilings and White Duck for all feature walls. I know that the White Duck goes great with the charcoal carpet and lighter charcoal lounge we have and I love it, but I'm not too sure about Whisper White. Is it too creamy or yellow for my charcoal colour scheme, particularly in the black and white kitchen? Should I use a half strength whisper white? Or just change completely to Natural White or something else? Antique White is too pink in my lighting. If anyone could help, that would be great Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 2Nov 10, 2009 4:52 pm My daughter used White on White and it's the crispest cleanest white, she also has charcoal feature walls and black/grey/silver tiles, this is in a hair salon mind you. White on white goes very nice with charcoal. Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 4Nov 11, 2009 7:55 pm mek I have charcoal carpet, charcoal kitchen, stone grey tiles and White on White on walls - but for a lot of people this is too cold. Not for me . I love your look mek it's perfect to me. Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 5Nov 14, 2009 10:16 am I probably woudn't consider natural white - it's a bit too creamy he's some pics of my natural white Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 6Nov 14, 2009 11:14 am Thanks for the pics Jess09. The natural white does look nice, but perhaps not with the charcoal thing I have going on. I have painted a sample pot on my walls already and it is too creamy, slightly pink for me. Mek, do you have any photos of your White on White walls with the whole charcoal scheme? My husband is a bit concerned about the starkness of the pure white walls. That is why I was opting for Whisper White because I hear it is a cool white. I found a feature article online where someone has used it throughout their house with the black/white/charcoal thing, only the photos of this online look really white. Not the yellow white that it comes out to when I paint it on my walls. http://au.lifestyle.yahoo.com/b/home-be ... y-trained/ Does anyone out there have photos of Whisper White (full strength) on their walls? Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 7Nov 15, 2009 10:12 pm hi teeny0, i think a big part of it is the colour you use for the ceiling - i wanted my ceiling to be natural white aswell, but my builder would only do ceiling white which is what makes mine look so creamy - here is a link to lildutchgringo's build thread - they also used a charcoal/grey scheme, and had whisper white for ceilings, walls, and all woodwork - i love it! viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16832&start=180 2014 - Prepping to build the Soho 4 with Plantation homes, industrial style 2009 - Built the Brampton with Coral Homes viewtopic.php?f=31&t=15399&start=280 Re: charcoal carpet, which white for walls? 8Nov 22, 2009 10:54 am Check out these whites by Dulux teeny http://www.dulux.com.au/applicator/colour/colour-atlas If you found Natural White to be too creamy (are you sure? ), then maybe you do want something really cool - what about Lexicon? I can post a photo of my walls but to be honest, they look just like Jess09's kitchen - white . Hi All, I am looking to go with tiles instead of laminate timber flooring throughout my living areas for my new build (Ashbury 29 - Henley). My whole colour scheme is on… 0 24320 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7236 1 10973 |
