I need to know what brand of paint you are quoting…Dulux, Taubmans or who? Yes you can paint straight over the already painted walls, just look at that paint already there as your undercoat for the main colour. Depending on the depth of the feature wall colour will depend how many coats you will need to do as you paint. Usually 2 is ample if you use a good brand of paint. No sandpaper or primer is required; this has already been done when the first paint went on the walls…..hopefully. You just paint straight over the exciting colour. I work with literally 2 hundred colours, and picking a few out of that lot is going to be hard for you. Are you living in your home already? If so, are you able to post photos of the rooms you want a feature wall in? If you can’t post photos…yes I know it’s hard to learn, you are welcome to send me the photos and I will post them for you. But I think I need to see these rooms if I can, other wise you and I could dance around with feature walls colours for the next week.
