Apply thinly as it is hard to sand; unlike top coat which you can sand easily and even wet it down and scrape off. Designed to be applied to gyprock, 2 coats of base coat & one thin coat of top coat to get rid of air pockets making it nice and smooth. Or just put in new gyprock, but you still have to join it A tip I got for joining (especially areas that tend to crack again) is to use the PAPER joining tape, and NOT the perforated joining tape. Reason is when the crack re opens it will part from the wall, still leaving a paint job without a crack. Where as the perforated will tear and you will have to redo the joint again due to the crack showing. I don't think the gyprock needs to be replaced. I think it will do quite well with some spakfilla and a good sand. I just need to somehow seal the surface so that any moisture from the paint doesn't cause the surface to swell and become uneven.
