Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jul 04, 2009 6:45 am Hi Guys... We have a White Leather Lounge, a baby and one on the way... The furniture looks fantastic... actually all the furniture is white ... but with the little man I am finding it extremelly hard to keep clean... Does anyone have any suggestions of how to get this looking near new again? It is currently 6 months old and looks quite terrible... Constant finger marks, ummmm red wine stain that i cleaned off but it has left like a yellow mark, and part of it seems to be cracking or kind of stress looking marks already??? I have previously used Leather Master, its a cleaner and protector but doesnt seem to clean too much... Any ideas appreciated... Also does nayone know of a professional leather cleaner that services the Brisbane Bayside area that they may be able to suggest... Thanks Nicole Re: White Leather Lounge and a Baby 2Jul 04, 2009 12:13 pm Why is your little man drinking red wine? Umm.. honestly, I have no skills with cleaning. That's why the only white things in our new place are the ceilings and bath tub. If it was me.. i'd probably hire a cleaner to come out and clean it and then add some kind of protectant on it. Good luck!! Building with PD - Regent 23 Cascades on Clyde Estate HomeOne Building Thread - PCI Completed - 28th August. Handover - 11th September. Re: White Leather Lounge and a Baby 3Jul 04, 2009 1:39 pm Oh dear, kids and white furniture... I'm not buying white furniture till my kids leave home.. I'm surprised at stains though, I thought leather lounges were treated well enough to be able to wipe off any spills/finger marks. Have you thought about putting another colour in the living area, and putting the white one into another "adult" room? The mess risk is only going to get worse with two, and as they get bigger.... my 7 year old is still as messy as my almost 3 year old.. even if you have no eating in the lounge rules they get broken as soon as your back is turned.. Re: White Leather Lounge and a Baby 4Jul 04, 2009 2:05 pm Bit silly I know.... But it looked soooo good (never again) Its not stained as much as (how do I explain) Where you see the grainy bits it looks like there is dirt inbedded there if you look close (if that makes sense) and when you look from afar just has this dirty looking tinge, no matter how long i wipe it for... Can't change it to another room as yet as this is the new part of a reno and the old part (where the other lounge will be) hasnt been started yet and as we are doing that part ourselves, i think the kids will be left home by the time it gets done hahaha Maybe I should just get it professionally cleaned. Shhhhh the red wine was from me... Don't tell the hubby! (he hasnt noticed, and Im not game to tell him) Re: White Leather Lounge and a Baby 5Jul 04, 2009 3:21 pm Of course the other option is, (as much as you probably would hate to) is to put a cover on it, you know one of those washable loose ones from spotlight, at least until you finish your reno and can reassess. I have a choc coloured fake suede lounge - not spending much on lounges till the kids grow up a bit..as I said.. but I rotate two large blankets that cover the back and seat of it through the wash. And I just spot clean the arms, as it's choc, it's not so obvious. Things do get pretty beat up with kids, it had a leaking nappy soak through the blanket the other day...cleaned up as best I could but there is only so much you can do....
