Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Apr 15, 2007 2:33 pm Can anyone tell me if Wattyl's Flokati is a cool white, warm white or off white?
We are planning to have our whole house painted in this colour to begin with and want it to match timber, glass, stainless steel, off white windows and doors, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Re: interior whites 3Apr 17, 2007 12:34 pm We are also painting most of our walls in this colour - it looks like a really pale grey tinge on the walls - not what you would think from the wattyl brochure. If you are in east subs of melb, porter davis has a display at pakenham (the bridgeport) which has most walls painted in this colour Built Porter Davis "Dromana" 2007. Re: interior whites 4Apr 17, 2007 11:18 pm Budwah,
This looks to be a warm white I don’t have the colour myself so I looked it up on the Wattly website. It’s not a stark white which would be a cool white. I think it will work well with timber; it’s very close to an off white so you shouldn’t have a problem there either! I have a sample pot of it and have painted small things to get an idea. We currently rent so I don't think the landlord would appreciate us painting over their walls! i justed wanted a cool, clean white- would Wattyl's oriental white be a better colour? Do you think this colour (Flokati) will go with an all white kitchen, bathroom? I also like blues, greens, pinks as well and was hoping to use these colours in soft furnishings around the house. I want the white to compliment the other colours. I also want the rooms to appear bigger- thats why I thought this colour would work- now Im not so sure. Re: interior whites 6Apr 18, 2007 11:19 am Any reason why you are not going with pure white?? Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: interior whites 7Apr 18, 2007 11:43 am the main reason we chose this colour in the first place is because we actually like that colour. Now i'm probably over thinking things as I do. I just want itto be perfect for our new house.
If we did go a pure white- any recs? Re: interior whites 8Apr 18, 2007 8:55 pm Budwah….here is a way to make sure you like your paint colour, and it goes with what you have in mind. I know how important it is!
Get a piece of gyprock, an old piece floating at anyone’s block, 2mt x 2mt, or there abouts Get a sample pot of the Flokati as well as the pure white. Paint the gyprock, half and half of each colour, making sure you use 2 coats of paint per colour. Wait till they dry…now use your painted gyprock as a colour board. Place all your selections on the board, laminates and anything else you have chosen, even timber work. Move them around between the Flokati and white, you will soon be able to see which colour it is you want to go with. This will also help with carpet colour selection. Make sure you have samples of all your selections; this is the best way to make decisions. Let me know how you get on….good luck!!
