Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Apr 25, 2009 12:02 am Was wondering if anyone had tried Nippon Paint from Bunnings. Have been painting some ceilings and tried Taubmans One Coat Ceiling paint. Noticed that it was quite thin and did not cover very well. Realised maybe the reason for this was the fact it claims to cover 16 m2/L. Dulux's one coat ceiling paint covers 12 m2/L and the Nippon which for 5L is the same price as Taubman's 4L covers 10 m2/L (which must mean at least it is thicker). Lots of opinions in these forums on Dulux, Taubmans and Solver etc but was just wondering about Nippon. Re: Anyone tried Nippon Paints. 2Apr 30, 2009 2:13 pm Hi, I have tried the Nippon one coat ceiling paint. it is quite thick and I was able to do a few rooms with the 5 ltr container. I probably won't use it again mainly because it's made in singapore or somewhere in that region and I have decided to try and buy Australian made where possible. But still does the job. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no use being a damn fool about it. W.C. Fields Brought Established. Re: Anyone tried Nippon Paints. 4May 06, 2009 11:34 pm A follow up on the Nippon one coat ceiling paint. It has done a fairly good job. It is quite thick and therefore covers up fairly well. Have been able to use it as advertised as a 1 coat. It comes in 5 litre plastic tub. Opening it up though made me feel I'd made the wrong decision. Most of the paint had sunk to the bottom leaving a more dilute paint near the top. On top of the paint was specks of dried paint floating which had come off the lid of the container. HOWEVER, giving it a good stir for 5 minutes then it looks nice and uniform and good as new. Used it for a bathroom and bedroom. Hope it lives up to its claims of being mould resistant. Re: Anyone tried Nippon Paints. 5May 23, 2009 3:41 am Hi bilkybill - i used Nipon for all my exterior painting & found it very, very good - lovely & thick but still easy to put on. no mention of it at other paint shops, then i found it was exclusive to Bunnings!! - although more expensive, i got 10% off cos of my o/ber arrangement with Bunnings. in that regard the o/ber card they issue is hopeless - very low discounts, but i pay as i go & took a list in of about $10,000 of different materials (hardiplank, insulation, some doors & frames, timber, bathroom fittings , adhesives, paint ect) i would get thru them if i got a reasonable "trade" type dicsount- paint discounts have been very reasonable although tradies do get higher i suspect. cheers tony The yellowing mainly occurs to white or very light colours. 1 2942 Wish you all the best.
