Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Apr 10, 2007 12:08 am im overwhelmed with choosing a colour scheme for my newly completed open plan kitchen, dining/living rooms. heres the fundamentals...
from the hall you walk into the dining & living room which extends to the rear windows of our home. off to the side of this is our kitchen which is slightly separated by a breakfast bar. - kitchen is white gloss with black granite benchtops. -white applainces -dark dusky pink leather lounge -black entertainment unit -dark timer (almost black) dning table with matching timber chairs (beige seude on top) ive been contemplating using dulux oboe d'amore (sorta like an eggplant colour) throughout with a yellow in kitchen, but worried it may make rooms seem to small? it is a very well lit area (natural light) thanks in advance[/list] Re: colour suggestions please! 2Apr 11, 2007 12:40 pm I hate to sound like a crack record…..but I would be able to give an excellent paint schedule if you could POST of photo of both the rooms. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: colour suggestions please! 5Apr 12, 2007 9:41 am Because of the black and white I'd definitely steer clear of any creams or cream based paints.
Have a look at some of the online paint programs eg. http://www.603010.com.au/roomscape/inde ... oom=Dining and have a play with the colours to give you some ideas. I personally like the eggplant/stoney colours and think they would go well with black and white. The example above (Taubmans 'Urban Stone') palette 1 and 2 both have black and white mixed in so you know the colours will go well with what you are putting with it in the black and white kitchen. Just my thoughts - and I don't know much... Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: colour suggestions please! 6Apr 12, 2007 11:15 am cobylee, I'm not in my office at the moment.
I'll have a look tonight for you. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: colour suggestions please! 7Apr 13, 2007 11:01 pm After looking at the photos and the floor tiles as well as the specks you have given,
I think you should do white or off white walls, with a feature wall. With two rooms that are basically one, as there are no walls dividing these rooms, it will be hard to do two colours and have them complement in each other in the one space. You are better off looking at these two rooms as one! If you think white is too stark you could use Dulux “Off White” 94334. This has a slight lemon look to it. The Off White will complement the Eggplant beautifully for a feature wall possibly in your dining room. Get sample pots, and do 2 coats of the colour on your walls, to see what you think. I think you will like the combo together. Let me know, if you need more help. ![]() Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: colour suggestions please! 8Apr 13, 2007 11:21 pm thanks michelle ![]() so far ive used (dulux) antique white USA throughout rest of house, with a feature in each room, self destruct in bedrooms, barbados blue in my little boys room, and in our study theres an old fireplace which ive used self destruct on the protruding front with swiss pear in seude behind it. the hallway is in hog bristle. so was sorta hoping to create a bit of interest in this part of the house. im now leaning towards the colour scheme 'rare riches'out of the "perfect reds" brochure from dulux. i was thinking, partita in kitchen, musk memory on dining walls and the partita on the southern wall (which is basically all windows) does this sound any good or should i just stick to the antique white rather than partita? Re: colour suggestions please! 9Apr 17, 2007 11:27 pm i went with the musk memory combo
its on the south facing walls and the rest are in partita. ive got to go look again in the morning, as we found out partita is nothing like the swatch ![]() Hi, Looking to add an ensuite to one of the bedrooms and make it a Master BR.
