I bought one for my entry and its pretty big but pretty light weight so it can be easy hung. HOME- is where your story begins! Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 6Feb 18, 2009 11:04 am Donuts, i know you;re not in the south eastern suburbs, but i bought the mirror in our WIR for about $115 i think? 1m x 1.8m with a large wenge frame in size from a framing place at DFO in Moorabbin. Maybe try the DFO at Essendon and see if they have a framing place perhaps?
There is also ebay. If you wanted a gold one i could have helped you out as i need to get rid of mine. Doesnt match the colour scheme here and i cant be bothered repainting it. Good Luck! Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 7Feb 18, 2009 5:29 pm thanks for more replies guys
I bought one at Ikea recently but it looked so tiny when we got it home!! Will have to find another space for it... didn't click that they might also sell bigger sizes so will have alook next time I'm there, thanks! P - thanks for that, will check out our DFO. Yeah gold wouldn't match my colour scheme either... In the meantime I have found a mirror shop in Barkly St West Footscray also, haven't had a look inside yet but prices don't look too bad from the outside... Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 12Feb 18, 2009 8:15 pm Hey Donuts, Its been a while, and its nice to be here a bit more, anyway I am not sure what type of Mirror you are after but there are some nice simple designs at oz design. I have attched the link.
But another thought is that your local glass and mirror supplier actually make mirrors to measure with ornate or a number of differnet style framed mirrors. They are reasonably priced aswell. Well worth having a look anyway. I have also attached a link that might help. http://matthewsglass.com.au/ http://www.ozdesignfurniture.com.au/Pro ... tegory=149[/img] Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 13Feb 18, 2009 9:10 pm Hi PK! good to see you again, have you updated you thread and I missed it? Hope things are going well with you
Thanks for those links, the Oz Design ones look nice but don't have dimensions on them, will go into a store though and have a look, I have a few on my list now! the made to measure one puts dollar signs in my eyes ... I am not even sure how much money I am allowed to spend on this mirror ... but it's not very much I am sure "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house. I've just seen this thead so not sure if I'm too late for you. Another option you could consider is to go to a picture framing shop as alot of them will let you choose a picture frame and then will insert a mirror for you. A friend of mine has just done this after searching for ages for the perfect mirror and she was really happy with it. She was also able to choose the exact size she wanted, there was no standards she had to stick to. She also said it was much cheaper for her compared to mirrors she'd seen in shops. If you're interested in further details such as price, size and which shop she used, PM me and I'll let you know. Cheers Debbie Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 15Feb 26, 2009 8:43 pm that's a great idea mrsrutherford I would love to know the place she went to, is it in Melbourne?

Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 16Mar 02, 2009 5:10 pm "Fog-Free" mirror is cheap plastic, and the "fog-proofing" wore off quickly, so now it is a cheap, plastic, foggy mirror in my shower. Also, the light stays on way too long, draining the expensive batteries. It would have been nice to have more control on it so I could turn it off when I am done. Instead, I get out of the shower, dry off, brush my teeth, and the light is still on! The little shelves for the razors are worthless, they simply balance on it, and the slightest brush against them causes the razors to fall off. They need to be stronger, where you can "clip" the razors to the thing so they don't simply fall off. In a small, confines space such as my shower, it is hard to avoid doing so, so I don't even use them anymore. Waste of money. Re: Where to get nice mirrors cheaply? 17Mar 02, 2009 8:43 pm soniferry, thanks for your worldly advice, but my mirror will not be in a place that will be subject to fog. In case you were wondering, it is also not in a space I might require some office chairs from the UK. but thanks anyway "Your emotions are the slaves to your thoughts, and you are the slave to your emotions." — Elizabeth Gilbert Living in our new house.
