We have chosen our paint colours - Taubmans Teague (T117-4) and Cafe (T117-3), with the Teague in the front 2 rooms (sitting and master) and the Cafe through the rest of the house. We aren't having feature walls (or not yet anyway) but are trying to decide what colour the door frames, doors, and skirting should be. I have been told all the one colour looks good - because the walls will be a low sheen, and the "woodwork" will be a semi gloss and the texture difference shows up. I have also been told that a 1/2 strength works well - but then seeing as we are having 2 different colours throughout, I would want the doors to match throughout - so do we do a 1/2 of the darker or lighter colour - bearing in mind that Cafe is about 1/2 of Teague. I have ALSO heard that a double strength (or darker shade) looks good... My instincts tell me to do them all in Cafe, then where that is the wall colour it will be the same, and where it is Teague it will be about a 1/2 strength... Any suggestions? It is so confusing and we want to get it right first time! Ray. Second Time 'Round Re: Skirting, doors and architrave colour? 3Feb 19, 2007 2:08 pm Hi Ray
I'm not an expert but we had a free one hour appointment with our builder's interior designer before pre-start last week and what she did was choose the wall colour and then for the doors etc. she choose 1 shade lighter on the same colour swatch...so basically on the colour swatch that has the 4 colours that you get from Bunnings etc...the 3rd colour down is our wall colour and the 2nd colour down will be our door etc. colour. So perhaps look at T117-2 on your swatch? Just another idea to consider... Nat Joe Apologies for the delay in getting back to you. If you haven't sorted this already you need to caulk this gap. Not sure where you are but if you are in Sydney I can… 5 4335 4 6010 7 2996 |
