Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Feb 05, 2009 3:20 pm Hi!
Hoping I can get some assistance with colours and some help p/shopping them onto my floor plan The house elevation is here --> http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a77/bi ... vation.jpg So far we are going with Jasper for the roof and garage door, still need to decide on the guttering and piping colours, and want a medium darkness earthy colour for the render, something chocolatey would be nice, ive seen a few posts where people like the pale earth dulux colour so if anyone can render the image in that as well for a start that would be appreciated http://www.dulux.com.au/html/specifier/ ... 3&c=B3%20& And would love to here any suggestions for earthy chocolatey render colours, and what colours to go with for the guttering and pillars on the raised portico thankyou! Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 3Feb 05, 2009 3:43 pm D@n - excellent work as usual.
billdsl - do you think that they "blend" too much together? Are you going to be breaking the sameness with something else - like stackstone etc? It is a nice and classic facade but think it needs some pizzazz!! Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 4Feb 05, 2009 3:47 pm thanks d@n
they do look too close, ive been fiddling round with colours and they do all just blend i want the pillars different, and i dont know how that f.c lined b/head is finished, does this get painted? edit: whats slackstone? Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 5Feb 05, 2009 3:51 pm Stackstone - not slackstone - is small strips of stone glued together. We are having our pillars on our portico covered with it.
Haven't got any photos of ours as home hasn't yet been started but it is manufactured by Quantum Quartz and we have chosen a mixture of colours like the following picture. Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 6Feb 05, 2009 3:54 pm oh that stuff, i like it, just not sure on costs, we're about at our budgets limit already so was hoping to break it up with paint colours to keep the costs down from here on in, it would be nice on the pillars though Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. *Window frames *Front Door and sidelight *Garage Door Maybe they are where you can break down the sameness? Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 8Feb 05, 2009 4:00 pm unsure on window frames, frontdoor & sidelight, we were going to stick with a jasper door, but maybe we can change this, we'd like white blinds but the path we're going is a bit dark for that Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10. Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 10Feb 05, 2009 9:28 pm ive just been fiddling with grey's, wasnt sure if grey would mix well with the jasper, here's an example, didnt think this would be so hard!
in this one ive used a mix of jasper for the roof, dune for the doors and windows and surfmist for the lighter area's to make it pop out more, the render is paperbark how bad is it? Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 11Feb 05, 2009 9:34 pm billdsl didnt think this would be so hard! I know, tell me about it!!! Exterior colour selection was one of the hardest things I think! It's getting better! After I posted about the Cafe Grey, Paperbark popped into my head too but I had already pressed submit. I like it Maybe the portico pillars need to contrast with the bit of render (the dotty bit that the arrow is pointing to)??? but I can't think how.... Re: Photoshop assistance and colour help 12Feb 05, 2009 9:39 pm i cant find any reference to cafe grey on the googles, who makes it?
i think im going to go and get some sample pots from bunnings tmr and start painting i like surfmist for the roof with a darker render, but the boss is fixed on jasper for the roof, which i also love, but its harder to match Blog - http://snakedr.blogspot.com/ Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=12084&p=307406#p307406 Status - PCI 15/10.
