Browse Forums Finishing Touch 1 Jan 19, 2009 6:25 pm Hi All
I need to pick two Solver paint colours, one for the walls and one for the ceiling. I am thinking of Vitesse for the walls and Solver Vintage White for the ceilings. Does anyone have any thoughts on these colours? Will this be ok? Grey polished concrete in the kitchen and lounge Chocolate carpet in the bedrooms Kitchen and Bathroom Splash Back - white tiles Bench Top - laminex quicksand Cupboard Doors - formica chocolate pear Any thoughts would be great. I can't find much info on the web re solver colours. Thank you Kristy Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 2Jan 19, 2009 6:36 pm All I’ve got is a couple of Solver paint brochures, one internal and one external.
The colours you have mentioned are not in the brochure. They seem to keep their paint colours hidden pretty well! Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 5Jan 19, 2009 8:32 pm Kristy, Becster has Vitesse for her exterior render colour - she mentioned it in this thread:
http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?p=146392 There's also a picture: Perhaps send her a PM and ask if she has any other photos of that colour. The light in that pic is very bright, so I'd guess it's washing out the colour quite a bit. Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 6Jan 19, 2009 8:38 pm Thanks Kek for the picture, I'll send her a PM... Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 7Jan 20, 2009 2:44 pm hey there - thanks for putting the picture up Kek.
That is pretty much the only pic I have that shows the render colour that well. The house is facing west and so the light was incredibly strong on a bright Perth summer afternoon. The bottom floor render will be Kanga. Had a Solver colour consultant round here last week to choose interior colours. She also suggested Vitesse as our base wall colour. When I told her it was on our exterior render, we talked about how the strong light really wiped the colour out, although this will "improve" once the Kanga is down below as it will be more balanced. My concern was that the Vitesse looked too white in the sun. You are able to go to any of their retail stores and for a $20 deposit take away their big swatch of colours for a weekend or several days. Alternatively, their colour consultants are very reasonably priced (free for the first hour of the consultation). Following the consultation they send you an A4 swatch of the various colours, as well as giving you a 30% discount card for their products valid for 2 years. Hope that helps... Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 8Jan 30, 2009 1:50 pm I have decided to go with Vitesse for my internal walls, but just wondering Becster have you decided to go for it inside as well? Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 9Jan 30, 2009 2:07 pm That will look great!
Haven't made a final decision, but the suggestion was smoke pearl, using either pelt or wallaby as an accent/feature. I have bought sample pots of these colours and some big pieces of white card so will do some experimenting in the next few weeks. We are still about 5 months from handover so some time to go yet... Still waiting on the downstairs roof to go on, and then the render will go on and hope the colours chosen look good (we copied another house so should be right ) Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 10Jan 31, 2009 5:01 pm Nice to see others going through the same dilemma. We are down to two colours, Smoke Pearl and Vitesse. At first I was thinking that Vitesse is too dark but now having seen photos on another thread (see link below) of similar colour I am drawn to Vitesse but with a lighter trim and doors.
https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=12995 Then again maybe go safe with Smoke Pearl....aaarrrggghhhhh I think next time I'll just but a house ready made Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 11Jan 31, 2009 7:00 pm Hi slyvestor
I checked out that forum, but it mentioned Wattyl Chalk Beige on the Walls and Wattyl Chalk Dust on the doors, frames, skirting. I was wondering where the picture of the vitesse colour was? Although probably too late for me to change my colour now lol. Cheers Kristy Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 12Feb 02, 2009 5:36 pm There is no picture of Vitesse that i know of, I was just saying that the picture in that thread looked similar. I have since been out to display homes to check over paint schemes and came across a house painted internally in Smoke Pearl. It sealed the decision and we are going with that , although I am quite convinced either colour would be fine. Our house is quite dark inside (poor natural light) so I am going with the lighter colour and will do a few Vitesse feature walls.
It's a compromise,,,,,, Good luck,....... a builder once said to me..."it's only paint and is the single easiest thing to change later on if you don't get it quite right"..... Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 13Feb 02, 2009 5:46 pm Thanks Sylvestor, Smoke Pearl will look great in your place and I am quite happy now with my choice of Vitesse...
Your right it would be very easy to change later on if needed... can't say the same about kitchen cupboards and benchtops lol I'm looking forward to seeing photos of your house Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour 14Feb 06, 2009 8:20 am Hi again
where was the display home with smoke pearl on the walls? It would be great to see the colour in a real live house! I have bought sample pots of smoke pearl and wallaby but have yet to paint my pieces of card... Re: Solver Paint - Vitesse Colour - Photos attached 17Oct 25, 2009 9:30 pm I just visited my cottage today to find all the walls painted and I LOVE the colour and look. I thought I would post the photos for anyone else that is considering the Solver Vitesse colour. I can't believe how well it has turned out...
