We are looking to create a square cut quioning effect with shadow lines in between like the picture below. Currently we have flat 590 x 460 piers built out of standard clay brick. The builder mentioned he wanted to fix square mouldings to the brick and render over the top to create this. Do any renderers have any advise on how this should should be constructed? We want to make sure we don't have no cracks in the future and is as strong as possible to mount heavy pier lamps onto? Advise much appreciated.
