The very dark blacky purple is called Dulux Double Bass The lighter brownish purple is Dulux Columbia it's very hot here Columbia 26Dec 31, 2008 9:55 am Oh yes SuH I remember choosing that Columbia off a colour chart not long ago! I love it. Think I may go with that.
Thanks for all your effort to find that colour, much appreciated and thanks for the photos. That is exactly my style! exactly... would appreciate any comments on colour for my facade.. themax Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 30Dec 31, 2008 3:46 pm SuH .. I love the colour Columbia ... considered doing it on our facade but decided on Jasper.
Joles the pics I posted are chocolate ... definitely not purple (although I agree the second pic throws purple on my screen as well ). I recall thinking the house looked like the colour dirt ... looked great from memory and yes it probably is surfmist. Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 31Jan 02, 2009 7:27 pm Very Nice!!!! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 32Jan 06, 2009 7:56 am Definitely go with what you love. My street is full of "safe" colours. Which means that every single house is in tones of cream, beige and grey. Most end up looking bland and kind of nothing-y (does that even make sense?). You know, your eyes just slide right past them and onto the next exactly-the-same facade...
MY colours are definitely not timid. I was so overwhelmed by everything we had to choose and afraid of making a horrible mistake, that I probably would have gone with "safe" and ended up with boring. But a friend who has some decorating knowledge and skills came to my rescue with her Dulux fandeck and pushed me in a much better direction. Can't wait to get the landscaping done so it looks finished. The inside has penty of colour too.... Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 33Jan 14, 2009 1:08 pm Yes, kek, that's exactly what I mean. (I can't work out how to do that 'quote' thing when posting), but yes your eyes do slide right by them until you see something such as your great gorgeous colour house and you stop and say 'wow'' that's gorgeous.
I am having a dreadful time getting my colours together. We have to tell building company tomorrow and I am besides myself with confusion. (Like that Tassie Devil in Bugs Bunny! in a whirlwind). 'The problem is this...I can only pick the render colour from a certain type and list and then the colourbond guttering, facia etc from the colorbond list and then the windows from that list and then the garage from the colorbond list and the cladding colour has to match in. It is very frustrating because of the different brands and it's hard to get a perfect match! Maybe that's why people go with the 'safe'colours. Oh my I need another cup of tea. themax[/quote] edited once for typos! Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 34Jan 14, 2009 5:15 pm I had a similar problem with render colours. I picked a beautiful deep Dulux colour, but couldn't find anything like it in the render colours we had to choose from. So I stayed with the same tonings (ish), but ended up with a lighter shade.
I started with a brick. Once I chose that, then the weatherboard and spouting/fascia colours, the rest wasn't so hard. Good luck! Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 35Jan 14, 2009 10:14 pm I've only just seen this thread...SuH, your house is gorgeous!!!
What do you need to build another one for?? (Just joking, of course you have every right to build a house whenever it pleases you! ) Can we have more pics please Those colours are great too. Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 36Jan 15, 2009 12:56 pm donuts I've only just seen this thread...SuH, your house is gorgeous!!! What do you need to build another one for?? Don't ask me why we are doing it again spur of the moment thing....but I am glad, cause I will have a nice view and "Pole" Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 38Jan 18, 2009 5:15 pm SuH, can I ask what color windows, garage, gutters etc you have/had with the Columbia? My parents are doing a major reno and I suggested "your" colour, and they really like it. Also does it throw alot of purple, or more browns???
TIA Bel Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 39Jan 20, 2009 8:00 pm bel SuH, can I ask what color windows, garage, gutters etc you have/had with the Columbia? My parents are doing a major reno and I suggested "your" colour, and they really like it. Also does it throw alot of purple, or more browns??? TIA Bel Oops, sorry bel, missed this. Well, 12 years ago we chose Wizard for our windows, which is a bluish/tealish colour (we were going for the Mediteranean feel) garage is probably surfmist, not quite sure, same with gutters and a terracotta roof. The house was a totally different colour and we decided to update it. Now the Columbia is only a feature on the columns, the rest of the house is Army Issue and another colour I can't remember because some other person in this house has removed the colour selection sheet I had stored in a safe place, for future reference Columbia is really in between, it is not a definite brown at all, I would say more purple, but a brownish purple Re: Bold and Beautiful...Facade colours 40Jan 21, 2009 7:07 am Thanks SuH.
Yeh if it has the purple they won't like it!!! They are going to get a consultant in to discuss color - I thought I'd throw up a few idea's I've seen on here. They want a browny/grey color, not brown, not grey I say good luck to the color consultant!!! (Mich I mentioned you, but wouldn't want to put you through that stress!) Still not in. Don't ask!? of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23758 I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature. Nice pick with the paint colours! 1 34266 Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7524 |
