Building thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14413 ATLANTIQUE 37 MK2 PHOTOS THREAD - updated 22nd August '09 viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22399 Re: Suggest a Forum 63Aug 23, 2009 2:01 pm Quote: Tonights recent roof/brick colour dilemma has inspired this suggestion How about a new forum called something like "Exterior Colours Gallery"? I envisage this forum to have two subforums (if it's workable), one for Bricks and the other for Roofing and it would work something like this: Say l'm deciding on my brick colour and l like the look of Hawthorn by Austral. I would go to the External Colours Gallery and then click on the Brick subforum. In that subforum l would see threads dedicated to each colour brick (one per brick only). I find the "Hawthorn - Austral" thread and when l go into it, l see that all the members who have built in that brick have posted their pics of their fascades as well as listing the following colour info: Mortar - Roof - Gutter - Fascia - Windows - Render - and any other external colours used. As such, l will have access to pics and colour details used with that brick colour all in the one place, rather than scouring a heap of blogs and threads looking for pics and trying to compare them. The roofing subforum would work the same way, have one dedicated thread per roof colour and the brick colour would be noted in the additional colours list. So if l am thinking of choosing Colorbond - Loft ( ) but am not sure what brick to go for or would like to see how my chosen brick looks with it, l can go to that thread and see all the pics of other peoples homes who have used it and see how it looks. I think that a new "exterior colours gallery" (or whatever you want to call it)would be a very beneficial addition to the H1 forum. It would help people in deciding and comparing external colours, expecially those who live in rural/remote areas who may not have the time or access to a large number of new estates to physically go and inspect homes themselves. What do ya think? Am loving Thorneys idea above, would love to see something like this on Homeone! Re: Suggest a Forum 64Sep 11, 2009 4:59 pm Can I add my voice to the requests for a renovation/rebuild section for those of us doing up established homes, rather than building new? There doesn't seem to be that many of us discussing our total projects, only the bits that make up the whole (ie bathroom, kitchen...) and I wonder if that's because it doesn't feel quite right chucking your thread in General Discussion when the new homes have their own forum for it.
