Browse Forums Ideas Box 1 Oct 27, 2010 9:57 pm Hi, Don't know if this is already covered in another thread, however I want to know if anyone has had any physically negative experience by posting a little too much about their build online. Ie. when posting photos, plans, location etc etc of a build has anyone ever had a theft or some other kind of experience which may have been attributed to posting something here. I want to share the details of my build and in doing so would likely post photos, plans and things that could be used by a scrupulous person for illicit advantage so want some tips on how i can avoid this. If already covered somewhere else please direct me... Thanks again and looking forward to sharing my build with all the guys on this forum. You don't have to share details of specifics, show pics of your plans, but make sure there are no personal details on the pic - remove any names, addresses and builder details. It can be hard to post responses to questions, but it really comes down to you to not divulge information you don't want people to know. It's not anyone's business where you live, they just like to feel connected and have things in common. People like pics, which is normal. Show them so we can see how things are progressing, don't show street signs, cars and stuff like that - even in reflections. Someone can search everything you have posted, so just keep that in mind when you are about to post, if there is anything that could give your personal identification away, edit before it is submitted. Also report out of the ordinary posts or pms. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Plus a shell of a house with stuff inside ! Re: Guidelines with threads on build - info security 3Oct 27, 2010 10:22 pm Great - that kind of helps but I have already posted the estate where I am building in other listings... I guess that doesn't matter to be honest will just stick to the things you mentioned.. and that should help. Have you heard of anything ******* going on in the past with other posters? Thus far, haven't heard anything. Doesn't mean nothing has happened - those people can be quite ** and cunning. Built with New Generation (Summit Homes) We own land!... with a slab on it! Re: Guidelines with threads on build - info security 5Oct 28, 2010 6:24 pm If you don't feel comfortable with posting information about your build then please don't. This is a public forum and most of the information is viewable by any person on the net. Just think of that when posting and you should be fine.
