Has anyone ever come across anything like this before? We’ve moved out of our rental place. We cleaned feverishly and all is fine with that, our agents say. However, for about 2 years other people in the building have been storing their junk in our car space. We don’t drive and only had a few small things (an old mattress, etc) stored in there, and one day we noticed they were gone and other stuff was there instead. So since then, they’ve just been putting their own stuff in there…it didn’t bother us THAT much except when we had guests who wanted to park their car in there and couldn’t. We don’t know whose stuff it is. Anyway, so now the agents say we can’t get our bond back till the car space is empty. GREAT! That’s just fantastic! So now we have to put notes in all the mailboxes and under the doors and ask whoever it is to remove it. If they don’t, WE have to pay over $100 to get it disposed of. SUCKS!!! Any advice? How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 2Sep 25, 2008 12:43 pm once you find them I would invoice them for storage fees!!
-Sha Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 3Sep 25, 2008 12:45 pm Yeah, I know! They’ve used our space for YEARS and now WE have to pay to get rid of their stuff? It’s SO infuriating!
We have no idea who the people are, or even if there’s more than one group of people living in different apartments who are storing their stuff there. The car spaces aren’t numbered so…*shrug* How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 7Sep 25, 2008 2:09 pm We would, but we can’t physical move some of the stuff. (there’s a big washing machine, 2 king size mattresses, among other things like several bikes, old fans, furniture items, and there’re at least 2 different cars that park there at any given time)
The body corporate has sent letters to everyone, telling them to move their stuff, but it never happens and nothing ever changes. We’ve received 3 letters over the past 2 years and nothing’s been done about it. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! I would put up a note and if it wasn't gone in 2-3 days I would do as Dan suggests. Burn it? Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! Burn it? hehe this would be really funny...but i'm sure you would get in trouble for it....how annoying that someone has done this....i'm not sure if there are any other options other than what d@n suggested, or paying the $100 to remove it.... Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 10Sep 25, 2008 2:18 pm Sorry ……I would put the lot on the lawn and leave it there.

They’ve done it for 2 years or something. Meh. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 12Sep 25, 2008 2:27 pm do u know who's cars are parking in ur spot? because maybe u could ask them to stop parking there for u to get the stuff out? what about if u moved the stuff that could be moved and leave the heavy stuff there...then maybe the person who's stuff it is, will come and get/move their stuff and then u could tell them to move their other crap too?
hehe u should put "some" stuff on the lawn, and then water it....heheheheheheheh Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 13Sep 25, 2008 3:17 pm Take a couple of seats and park yourselves in the spot with an esky and wait for someone to try and pull in. When they do you can ask to borrow there muscles to move the crap in the space out to the footpath and then you will let them park there.
Or put a sign on the stuff in your car bay saying free to good home. Or pay the $100 if it means getting your bond back. Find comfort in the fact that Karma will reach the people who have inconvenienced you. I hope it all works out for you. Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! We've written a letter and we'll drop it under the doors of everyone this afternoon, and then by next week if it's not all out, then we'll just move what we can ourselves. Goodo. Sorry this has happened to you GS after all the cleaning you did (and red eyes you got!) to get the place looking nice you don't deserve that. Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! No bond back! 16Sep 26, 2008 12:10 am Thank you! That's really nice to hear.
They've stored their stuff in there for years and years...some people in that building were nice but just a bit feral...with not much consideration for others in terms of things like slamming doors for no reason, playing loud music, cigarette stinkings coming in from the patio below our balcony, and in through the vents in the bathroom, putting rubbish in our bin but not taking it up to the road for emptying and stuff, parking their car in our space, etc...we sort of felt like we were invisible and caused no problems in terms of noise or rubbish, but had to still put up with all other peoples' annoying things. It's a shame, but overall we really loved living there. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: Junk in our car space not our’s! I'd do the same & advise the other residents that if the stuff isn't moved by a certain date, then all sthe stuff will end up on the footpath ! that way you've given them the warning & a deadline. Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Old Home Restoration / Renovation Hi, just discovered all these junks left behind under the floor. Could any of these be asbestos? Best to leave as it is or clean up?
