Browse Forums Real Estate 1 Sep 17, 2008 9:45 pm Hi all,
We're about to embark on a rather scary part of our journey...selling our blocks of land. Saw the lawyer today to start to have the contracts drawn up. Now because we object to paying commission on 3 blocks to an agent, who most probably wouldn't do a lot to sell the land, we've decided to do it ourselves . How hard can it be We already have a list of about 10 people who are interested. So, my request is does anyone have any tips. I'm attaching a couple of things I've done on publisher and would appreciate any opinions on them. How can I make them look better? Any suggestions at all are welcome, from design ideas to selling tips. First, a flyer which we plan to letter drop on our street and nearby streets (most of the contacts we have are from people who know people who already live on our street) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next the For sale sign to go on the block of land Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We will also be advertising on domain.com.au Obviously there will be contact details etc on the sign and flyers. It looks very professional. I would ask dimensions of each of the areas if I was buying thats probably the only thing I didn't see.
There is another website you could use but it only used by WA and NSW. If you are chasing the treechange or seachange people. You never know its called Comfree http://www.comfree.com.au/ Good luck I think you will have no probs. Re: Advice please...selling land 7Sep 17, 2008 10:24 pm Thanks PK. Do you mean areas or the lengths of the boundaries...good idea I think I have got that on our documents, so I don't have to speak to our surveyor again (thank goodness )
We are also going to advertise through a few other internet sites as well as domain, mostly the free ones or ones where you only have to pay $10-$20 for the ad. I will check that one out Donuts, our block is behind lot 3 (ours is lot 4) so further up the hill. Ours is just under 4 hectares, all bush atm. We have tried to stagger the building envelopes so no-one overlooks their neighbours too much. Our current house is the one on the right in front of lot 2. Umm....yes, the picture is just off google, but that seems to print OK, it will just be used for an A4 flyer, but I will have a closer look at it. I have to contact a sign writer yet to find out what their exact requirements are for the For Sale sign. Don't worry Matt, I'm pretty anal too, I just try not to show it too much here, but ask DH Maybe I could change it to "sort of sought after" 'chelle We have a hand-over date...15/10...but I won't hold my breath! http://people-in-glass-houses.blogspot.com/ Re: Advice please...selling land 13Sep 17, 2008 11:17 pm 'chelle Maybe I could change it to "sort of sought after" If you sorta wanna buy the sort of sought after block................... Chelle, for dimensions I just meant the perimeter and that way the buyer gets lengths of areas to show potential builders. My definition of ok, is probablly alot different to yours. The only way to get a decent print from it is to get the largest 72 ppi you can, and drop the image dimensions down by half. Also don't forget to change the colour mode of your images to cmyk before you print. But then again, there's probably copyright protection on them anyway, so you're legally screwed....though who's looking. Re: Advice please...selling land 20Sep 18, 2008 12:03 am Oooh, the West Coast.
