Browse Forums Real Estate 1 Feb 14, 2017 10:20 pm Hi All, I am planning to buy a land which is unregistered, due to be registered next year. I just figured out that we need to pay the stamp duty of the land purchase price within 3 months of exchange of contract. I am trying to figure out do we need to pay the following rates this year evn though the land is not registered and will tale a while to get the title next year: 1. Council rate fees 2. Water rate 3. Land tax Or do I pay them after final registration and settlement on the land? TIA Re: When to pay council rate, water rate and land tax for un 2Feb 14, 2017 11:38 pm In Victoria all of these things are paid at settlement. the exemption applies only to your principal place of residence - so you must live in it. The 200 days is continuous. You also have to apply for the exemption. 2 11080 If it's your primary residence then there is no tax deductions to be made. 4 101025 Yep, very good point. I’ll do more research and see what figures I get. Thank you! 8 2462 |
