Browse Forums Real Estate 1 Aug 12, 2014 6:34 am We have sold our investment property to help fund our upcoming build and settlement is scheduled for this Friday. The property sold quickly, however there was a rescinded offer and deposit prior to it actually selling. It has been 6 weeks since that has happened and despite many phone calls and even visiting the real estate office, the deposit has not been returned. It has been excuse after excuse. The agent now won't even return our calls so I rang our solicitor yesterday who is now onto the case. It's only a couple of thousand dollars and I know it's a bit of a bonus but it should be our bonus not the agent's bonus. Any thoughts or suggestions? 11/11/13- dep paid 4/4/14- settlement Feb '15- DA app 6/8/15- CC site works begin 19/8/15- Formwork 25/8/15- slab 3/9/15- elect. appt 13/10/15 - frame started 19/10- bricks started 31/10 - roof done Re: Agent not returning rescinded deposit 2Aug 12, 2014 9:22 am You have got the legal guys going - so give them time. Not sure where you are - but does your paper have a voters voice type thing - for complaints etc ? Might be the go. Also - check on the agent - is he a member of the "guild". If so check to see how you make complaints - but your legal people will probably do this. Re: Agent not returning rescinded deposit 3Aug 13, 2014 6:35 am Thanks Saint Mike. Will give it a few more days and see what happens. Will certainly not be recommending this agent to anyone, which is a shame considering this is the third property we have bought/ sold with them in the past 12 months. 11/11/13- dep paid 4/4/14- settlement Feb '15- DA app 6/8/15- CC site works begin 19/8/15- Formwork 25/8/15- slab 3/9/15- elect. appt 13/10/15 - frame started 19/10- bricks started 31/10 - roof done Before you rip it up, if you can in the grout lines, drill some holes and pour/inject techgrip by sika. I have used it to bond mdf to timber, but in the process it dripped… 1 4266 Not much in this responce. My suggestion is, what are you looking to build and why. This will all be impacted by the local councils planning scheme. Familiarise yourself… 6 5826 In NSW the maximum deposit for building work is 5% until the builder provides HBCF insurance 1 4813 |
