Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 5Jan 25, 2011 7:54 pm Hi and welcome Thoma, our experience has been pretty good overall. We waited a year for our land to title, so were a little over it before we started building, but Boutique/HBC admin was way longer than we anticipated, we signed contracts in March 2010 and our land was released at the end of May 2010, we had a site start in September 2010 (4 months for admin) and i am pleased to say we have our PCI booked for this Friday so 4 months for the build and that included Xmas break. We have been pretty pleased with the quality of the build. Where abouts are you building and what house are you building? Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 7Jan 27, 2011 12:26 pm Thoma, Just went onto their website to check out the allure - I went to the display home when it opened in Epping, I loved this floorplan also, particularly the wir behind the bedroom wall. Waiting for land is a nightmare, my only advice is the spend the time doing a lot of research on colours you like etc, even down to landscaping plans, it's amazing what you find out and sometimes it is too late to change plans. Will watch out for your build thread when you commence, or if you need any questions answered feel free. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. When you have your Colour Appt they dont rush you and you have plenty of time to do your selections and they run you thru the whole thing. Only thing I didnt like at colour selection was the tile selection, not much that we liked so we opted for plain white. I went to the old offices to do the colour appt so maybe at their new offices they have changed a bit. We also signed our Contracts the same day as our colour appt, and they usually allow 5 hours + to do both. But we were pretty organised and new what selections we wanted so we were quite quick around 2 hours. You will get a folder with all the standard and upgrade selections before your meeting so that helps to get you started. Good luck with it all. We are looking at doing so however as First Home Buyers we are skeptical and a little fearful of being ripped off! Has anyone had any negative experiences so far? Ie Site Costs, Price Inflations that were not expected, ******* work discovered etc...? Would love any feedback. So far it all seems positive and I realise that its going to be a waiting game when you build but with all the negativity over builders on the forums I do get a little fearful. Cheers, AAC Hi Allient!! There was a post on the forum about HBC and their 3000 deposit, and the experience of the buyer is not good. I just signed up with them as well and I'm hoping our would go very well. Though I'm a bit apprehensive for we changed our plans all the time and had to pay variation fees each time we changed it because we didn't do it at the start and didn't do it altogether. Our main problem is we change our minds all the time. Our sales rep is a bit weary of us now i think.... Srichz Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 16Mar 28, 2011 3:12 pm I'm going to sign the contract with HBC. One problem is that they can't give a fixed price for site cost. They put 15k for "allowance" and are saying that normally 10k to 12k is the cost in surrounding areas. They promised to give back the amount if the final cost is less. So did you guys have fixed price site cost or did you actually get the refund? Any experience to share? Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 17Mar 29, 2011 8:58 am Thorny, the site cost is just an estimate, we built in south morang and our site costs were around 15-16K. That is right any amount in credit at the end is refunded to you. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. Re: Homebuyers Centre - Melbourne 20May 15, 2011 4:03 pm Should have final finance approval next week and then more waiting, 6 months to go till they start building but gives us time to save for some more furniture and home theatre etc. Can't wait to be in though and can get out of the inlaws.lol I havent, and i havent looked to much into it, but on face value its not the saviour its trying to make out to be.
