Browse Forums Real Estate 1 Sep 26, 2012 3:39 pm I am considering selling my townhouse next year. I would like to do it without my neighbours knowing. So am thinking of not having a sign out the front of the complex. Still with an agent, internet, local paper. My street does not lead to anywhere. Only those who live here travel down the street so no passing traffic, though that does make it very quiet both day and night. In fact though I have lived in this area my whole life I had no idea this street existed until I bought here! Thought I could have a big letterbox drop for the property concentrating on the surrounding areas that have units. My place would ultimately appeal to those who would like to upsize but can't afford a house in the area. Has anyone out there sold "on the quiet"? Is the big sign out the front really going to bring in people if there isn't any passing traffic? Would appreciate any thoughts, ideas? Re: Advertising when selling home 4Sep 26, 2012 4:43 pm Thanks for the replies. Was thinking that the internt advertisements could show the interior without exterior views. In that way those looking can get an idea of the layout, size and the amount of light in the place. And no address on Internet, instead "contact agent for details". Have noticed this quite a lot lately. Would be good to keep my noisy neighbours out of the loop and good security too! There are not many townhouses available in my area so demand is quite high as long as the price is right. I figure that none of my neighbours would be looking at buying a townhouse since they are already in one so wouldnt necessarily be looking on the internet, except perhaps to get an idea of prices in the area. And with internal photos, they wouldn't know it is my place as the builder who built this place did most of the townhouses in the area with similar colour schemes, layouts etc. Instead of spending the money on as board out the front, I would rather spend the money on extra letterbox drops and perhaps an ad in the neighboring areas local paper.
