Browse Forums Real Estate 1 May 09, 2012 3:24 pm Hi ,I am about to purchase a big land very close to Tarneit, Vic. Does any one know how to check if that piece of land or the area is subject to flood during heavy - normal rain/flash flood/river over flow. - who will have such information ex. council etc. Thanks and Regards Bani Adam Re: Knowing flood effected and LOW LAND 2May 09, 2012 3:30 pm Talk with the council first but I would be very careful on any figures you get. There has been a lot of development and much more planned. That can have a big effect on how land behaves in flood conditions. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Knowing flood effected and LOW LAND 3Nov 21, 2012 6:57 am I'd ask your insurance company. We brought a house in a flood zone (even thought he area hadn't flooded in over a century) and they were able to give us heaps on info about it. The only thing is we would never be able to get flood insurance on the house, from any provider. (It's since been re-zoned though and we were offered flood coverage, but didnt have any for the first four years) - MrsT Brought first house in 2008. Renovated...a LOT. Built in 2013. Today is under construction. Thank you for understanding. Yes it had a house on it. But Melbourne water only wanted something the original size of the existing house. We managed to fit a 45sq house on. 10 33666 Give Jonathan a call. Tell him you know me. He is in my opinion the best surveyor I have ever worked with.
