The problem with this boom, is owners are expecting BIG prices for absolute dumps! Prices have gone so high that they don't even bother to spruce up the place. It's really hard to find somewhere that looks half decent, doesn't cost the earth, nor need major reno work done to the point where it's often better to just demolish and start again. With interest rates going up, one would hope that the demand would drop off just a bit and prices would go back to normal. It's seriously crazy times out there. don;t be afraid of putting in an offer that you believe it is worth. Which may be a long way below the asking price. They can only say no. Somepeople are just ill advised as to that it will get. Yes booms are hard to buy in - but there are sometimes bargains out there - if you chase them. They sometuimes go off half cocked - so do your own research via several reliable and trusted industry sources and see what you think it is really worth. Not what some non affected journalist thinks or heard half the story of.
