I presumed they would sell maybe half at the auction and the rest would be up for sale... oh well I am not in a position to purchase just yet - a few months from finishing renovating and selling. I really thought the larger blocks would go over $800K, so was quite surprised to see all had sold on the news. I think the prices were quite reasonable considering the position - yes it's in "The Zone" and the fact that newer "housing estates" in these middle suburbs tend to keep ahead of the general trend for that suburb until the houses start to "date" (look at the houses built on the old CBC College Oval site in Murrumbeena/Carnegie - they resold for amazing prices for about 5 - 7 years....but now many of them have become very dated with their curved edge laminex bench tops, white appliances, flowery tiled backsplashes and bathrooms, chunky gold shower screens and "period" facades) There have been quite a few houses and town houses in East Bentleigh sell over the million mark - both brand new and renovated/extended - but all with up to the minute styling and top of the line finishes and appliances. But as Andrew Winter from "Selling Houses Australia" (Lifestyle Channel on Foxtel) says... "Sell it within 18 months of finishing your renovation or you'll find yourself doing it again"!! I'd rather start the next one!! Cheers to all rabid renovators - rozzzie Re: Clover sale - East Bentleigh 8Jun 26, 2010 6:02 pm The two lots left are Lot 33 550m2 asking $770k Lot 22 528m2 asking $740k This is for sale in McKinnon 581m2 and should sell around $850, basically land value. /www.realestate.com.au/property-house-vic-mckinnon-106621556 The warning is on the sticker on the door too.
