Two bedrooms, one bathroom, tiny courtyard, single living area. Single fronted weatherboard.... ONE MILLION DOLLARS. Double what the owners paid for it five years ago..... Re: House prices gone mad? 2May 06, 2010 7:51 am YEP…..just as I predicted when I bought my house a year ago! House prices and interest rates will go up big time this year again. That’s why I moved fast!!!!! Now a semi commerical area with houses and offices near each other + developers buying up and developing in the street. Article about was in the paper was little misleading as its not quite a "normal" 2 bedder as such. Re: House prices gone mad? 4May 06, 2010 6:34 pm It does look very nicely renovated, but still, it's extremely small. A million dollars, and no cat-swinging room? I know, I know, it's all about location.... Makes me laugh to think back to when Richmond, Collingwood and Fitzroy were down-and-out. And Carlton and North Melbourne were full of dilapidated student share-houses. My husband was offered his grandparents two-bedroom maisonette in Thornbury for $30,000 in 1980...there was no way he could afford it at the time. Re: House prices gone mad? 5May 23, 2010 10:47 am And now for something we all knew but took our gov't a while to wise up. http://www.news.com.au/money/property/c ... 5870016929 Re: House prices gone mad? 6May 23, 2010 10:57 am Yep... was predicted Where you are coming from is where you are going to... Re: House prices gone mad? 7Jul 09, 2010 4:02 pm My mum was saying that her friend's daughter has just sold her 2 bedroom unit on Rowans Road in Moorabbin / Highett for over $600,000! This was never a hugely expensive area, and in my mind, I would've put this property at around $400,000. Wow. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: House prices gone mad? 9Jul 13, 2010 10:45 am It wasn’t! That’s the weird thing. It was nice…not the older style, but certainly not ultra mod or majorly renovated. The prices are just insane! Lol. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Re: House prices gone mad? 10Jul 13, 2010 12:41 pm It's one good thing about taking a year to get our land titled, our current house price has gone up at least $60k and we are not looking at selling until our house build is finished which the way we are going will be around Feb/Mar next year, so hopefully it will either bring the mortgage down or go to "extras" we did not think we could afford, landscaping etc. Site Start: 10th September, 2010 PCI : Friday 27th January, 2011. I paid $170 for it four years ago. there's a reason a lot of first home owners have started despairing about ever getting into the property market. government needs to do some massive work to upgrade the infrastructure around the suburbs, and also to make it easier/faster for those outer 'burbs to get to the CBD. Re: House prices gone mad? 12Jul 13, 2010 3:13 pm Yeah, it's no use (to me anyway) encouraging people to buy house & land packages way out in the middle of nowhere to get them away from the overpriced, too-crowded suburbs and city areas. I for one do NOT want to live where it takes forever to get to the city and where all my friends live. I also don't particularly want to live in an estate where "everything" is right there where you live. I want to live in a NORMAL place...a suburb that's established, with a street of shops and easy transport. I don't drive so this is especially imperative for me. How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! Tradie may sit at home but will need to get house plastered as well or will you sit it out? 6 9938 You’re on the right track, wire brush in a grinder then a zinc rich epoxy primer then a top coat of some sort, like a waterproofing membrane.
