Browse Forums Real Estate 1 May 04, 2010 9:29 pm Hi, quick question. Am getting my house ready to sell & need to take down canvas photos & replace with paintings, prints etc. Have been looking around and many seem quite expensive. I want to spend about 150-200 on about 3 medium prints. What is the best theme or thing to go for. I have a modern house and these pics would be going against a caffe latte brown feature wall. Flowers, abstract, etc. Very confused & dint want to spend a fortune. Any advice would be appreciated. Thks mel Re: What pictures, paintings do I buy to replace photos? 2May 04, 2010 9:31 pm how about buying some cheap frames, and some nice wrapping paper? Make your own art? Very cheap Re: What pictures, paintings do I buy to replace photos? 3May 06, 2010 7:52 pm Good idea Erin.... Also check out Target and K Mart - you might be surprised at what you find. I picked up a framed print at Target for $10 that was reduced from $70-plus. And a Buddha carved wooden plaque with a tiny bit of damage for $6-odd. Clearance centres? Op shops? Re: What pictures, paintings do I buy to replace photos? 4May 06, 2010 10:56 pm Thks for the advice I checked out target and all the ones I saw were quite expensive! I like the idea of making my own art. I will look for some frames & wrapping paper. Should be able to do it for a bargain. I snapped up a mirror today for 50 from 200 bargain to replace my wedding photo but will need some made up prints for my bedroom & lounge area. Many thks once again Re: What pictures, paintings do I buy to replace photos? 5May 11, 2010 11:45 pm What about E bay? You can find some real bargins. check out the closing soon stuff and somewhere close you can pick it up after the auction is over. Its only to sell the house and no point wasting money you might need in your next place Re: What pictures, paintings do I buy to replace photos? 6Jul 14, 2010 12:18 pm I’m sure I’ve seen fairly cheap and medium / largish sized pre-framed pictures in Target, Kmart and places like The Reject Shop with landscape pictures, or other such views like those nice Greek Santorini-style ones…how about them, eh? I’d steer clear of flowers except just for the basic purpose of adding a bit of depth and different colour to a wall. Abstracts can look a bit like you live in a hotel, but it depends on your overall property. If it’s a modern property inside, they can look good and complement it. Otherwise, it can look a bit odd. I think it also depends where you live. Here on the Gold Coast, people are more accustomed and tend to want to see pictures of the sea and palm tree-related scenes. In Melbourne perhaps though, a more abstract or urban scene would be cool. Just my uneducated 2 cents! lol How the hell did I become a senior member!? I know nothing! ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7742 Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. In my opinion you dont need to replace or paint the roof other than treat surface rust… 1 10209 |
