Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Slab Upgraded 2Aug 08, 2020 9:03 am Hi RoseC Welcome to the forum If You have signed the building contract the builder must notify you of changes and you need to sign a variation for the slab upgrade. If you have only signed the tender or Preparation of Plans agreement (PPA) Your choices then are pay up or exit the agreement and forfeit your deposit and rights to use the builders copyright design. This should have been explained to you initially.... basically, you have to start all over again? Wiser, poorer and with a geotech report and slab engineering in hand. Forewarned is forearmed cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Slab Upgraded 3Aug 08, 2020 8:05 pm Yes and no, if the builder included a Provisional Sum for an "Engineering Upgrades" no they don't have to notify you until the Provisional Sum is fixed but if there wasn't a Provisional Sum for those works they have to get you to sign a Varition before they proceed Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16159 4 6201 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5160 |
