Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 02, 2020 10:40 pm Hi, We are finalising our contract and have been quoted about $1000 to install a Schweigen range hood into our roof. Is this a reasonable price? Or would anyone have an estimation how much their builder charged? Or is it better to install it after handover? thanks Re: Roof Range hood installation 3Sep 02, 2020 11:34 pm Bobjane It depends on the model. What model are you getting? Some of their rangehood models can be up upwards of $2000+ Make sure you get them to specify the model number in your contract. We have already purchased it and it is a wall mounted range hood. Just wondering the cost for installation of the external motor in the roof. Re: Roof Range hood installation 4Sep 03, 2020 5:08 pm cocobella1 Bobjane It depends on the model. So the range hood is already installed but the extraction fan and ducting has yet to be done or is your builder trying to sell you a rangehood with installation as a sperate cost? Re: Roof Range hood installation 5Sep 03, 2020 10:10 pm The range hood has been purchased ready for installation. We are unsure whether to ask the builder to install it (including the motor in the roof) or to ask an electrician after handover. The builder has quoted $1000 for it...is this reasonable? You'd probably be able to get a roof plumber to install the ducting and roof furniture for a couple of hundred and then get the sparky to install a power point for the motor and to install it. That's another couple of hundred and the joy of having to corral two sets of trades. Sparky cannot do roof plumbing. The builder has no doubt applied a significant markup but you're getting a working rangehood on Day 1 rather than having something that is not functional when you move in. I need to replace the worn mohair seal on my sliding window, but I can't get access to the end to slide the old one out & push the new one in. I could probably rip the old… 0 5682 Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6714 |
