Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 02, 2020 11:48 pm Hi, I have planted a few Yucca Aloifolia plants in front of my house its nearly 2.5 years old. One of my neighbors and friend suggested that these plants can damage the Foundation Wall and create big problem in the structure. I am attaching the pictures. Can anyone suggest? They can have a disproportionate root system for the tree size. I'd look at transplanting yours to somewhere else on your property and choosing a better suited variety for that location. Re: Yucca Aloifolia - Plant around House Foundation 6May 11, 2024 10:54 am I would pull them out now while you can. I had an issue with Yucca trees at the front of my house, they were around 30cm away from the brickwork. After about 6 years of lopping the tops as they kept growing too tall, the base started to grow wider. As brickface said, they are certainly hard to remove when bigger. Have a look at the photo here under the section "Can You Plant a Yucca Tree Close to a House?" https://treeremovalnearby.com.au/are-yucca-tree-roots-invasive-in-australia/ and you can see what a large yucca looks like when it grows hard up against brickwork. In that scenario it looks like it pushed out a retaining wall, but all the more reason to remove them! Thanks for the photos. You need to know whether the inflow or the overflow pipe is leaking and this is a simple process of elimination. INFLOW: The vertical riser… 4 4817 0 4874 |
