Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 26, 2020 7:19 pm Gday I’m looking at buying a house. I am going to get a building report from a licenced person but just wondering if anyone here can help me. I am wondering if the roof extension looks legit or not they have raised it and extended it out. Just looks a bit suss with ply holding bracing and not much support. Thanks heaps in advance. Further down those newer rafters, is there any support over their lengths like an under-purlin? Stewie Gday mate cheers heaps for the reply. No as far as I can see there isn’t anything just that bit of ply at each end. On one side roof is probably raised about 500 the other only 300. So if ornate had and under purloin you think it’d be sweet. Cheers again Re: Extended/raised roof legit 5Jul 27, 2020 8:03 pm Pulse definitely not allowed under timber framing standards, might work but definitely an illegal extension, on the plus side the original trusses look intact Gday mate cheers for your help. Would it just require some more bracing for it to be legal? All the new roof is all ready on does it have to be fully pulled down or just braced?
