Looks like I will be in a fight with my builder over cracking/movement of slab. The crackings started within a month of the handover of the house and kept re-appearing. It's only a one year old property. The builder has been sending painters everytime to 'fix' it. I am in disagreement with the builder about the cause of the problem too.
I am looking for an inspector/advocate who would give me a comprehensive report on all the faults of the building and help me with my fight against the builder and if I need to go to VCAT.
Please recommend me a building inspector/advocate who meets the above criteria. Thanks in advance.

You will need a current geotech and engineering report
There is also a number of things that you should have done and will need to do
1. Have you taken photos of your Siteworks and slab construction during the build?
2 .Do you have a compaction, slab and footings inspection report?
3. Is your brickwork cracking
Checking Cracks Above Lintels Using Boschlasers
4. You will also need to Tabulate movements over a period and time, ie check sagging, hogging, twisting, etc
these will relate to the cracking patterns in 3 above your independent engineer will analyse your data
Post back and let me know how it's going as it also helps others
