I’m not 100% happy with it but can’t pinpoint solutions. I feel there is wasted space but not sure how to move things for a better fit. Some wants - I would like more bench space for appliances Some thoughts from forums that I will incorporate: - All drawers for base cabinet - under bench microwave - two 600mm ovens - maybe move fridge to the other side for easy opening of fridge door Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grateful for any suggestions Re: Kitchen layout 5Jul 13, 2020 12:00 pm What do you think of rotating the fridge so it is in the same place but against the pantry wall? It would not be connected to the bench anymore. I read that it’s sometimes hard to swing fridge doors wider to access all areas if it is limited to 90 degrees. Re: Kitchen layout 6Jul 13, 2020 1:26 pm I would do L shaped kitchen - so along wip wall and rhs wall; uninterrupted. I would move door to WIP to left hand end and put fridge next to door, then move island to face dining We have the L- with Wip next to fridge, next to 2xoven tower. It works so well! We also have no sink in the island which I love! Re: Kitchen layout 8Jul 13, 2020 8:01 pm We have 1 corner cabinet - it connects with under the kitchen sink and I find it really useable. Whilat a cnr cabonet could possibly be deemed not as useful ~ the added bench space really does work really well Re: Kitchen layout 10Jul 14, 2020 9:19 am Thanks @Mining Man I like seeing different ideas. Glad I posted up here. Council has approved of the home build. I’m not sure if the internal layout is allowed to differentiate too much? My husband is afraid of making big changes that will cause ‘variations’. But adding cabinetry or modifying shelving shouldn’t be an obstacle. You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 15600 Hi, We're building a double-storey in Perth and I'm undecided with the kitchen sink situation. I'm set on having the main sink with dishwasher in the scullery - and… 0 20917 Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6139 |
