Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 11, 2020 12:07 pm New build next door has now put their Hot water solar Panel on their roof. It’s in our face every time we look out our upper living area window or sit out the deck. We also worry about the metal framework reflecting sunlight glare. Sent a nice email to owner asking if it’s possible to reposition the panel to a more centred part of the roof. No reply. Do we have the right to ask that it’s repositioned away from the view of our living areas? Certainly can’t see any Foxtel dishes dominating skyline lines around the neighbourhood Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 6Jul 11, 2020 5:04 pm Golfhacker Althom In reality no worse than your average Foxtel dish to look at. Foxtel dishes are smaller and set closer to roof. Certainly can’t see any Foxtel dishes dominating skyline lines around the neighbourhood A 2-2.5m wide solar panel on a 20-25 meter roofline is hardly dominating anything let alone your entire skyline. If they did agree to move it and their system became less efficient as a result would you be willing to chip in to cover their additional costs? Give it 2 weeks and it will be like the light pole on your street, you won't even know it's there. Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 8Nov 13, 2020 5:59 am "This construction does not look safe and in any situation, it will easily fall and most likely on your site." Pffffffft, what do you base that on??? Are you a builder, engineer, solar panel installer??? Stewie Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 9Nov 13, 2020 9:54 am basicman Yes, of course, you may. This construction does not look safe and in any situation, it will easily fall and most likely on your site. LMFAO! Ok Mate! Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 10Nov 16, 2020 12:07 pm basicman is a solar SPAMMER who edited and spammed the original post 3 days later. One year is a great ROI. LOL. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 12Dec 16, 2020 9:28 am kasador I think you should consult a specialist if this solar panel installation doesn't violate the rules. And if you find out that they don't have the right to do this, then, of course, you have every right to complain and force them to redo the construction for your safety. Yeah that will work. "Specialist" knocks on neighbours door and tells them "The people next door want me to inspect your solar cell installation". Neighbour says "Get off my property" "Specialist comes back and gives the complainee a $500 bill and walks away. LOL. As for me, I don't understand anything about installing solar panels, so I invited experts to install special lightweight solar samui panels. So, I am sure that they did everything right and my installation doesn't interfere with the neighbors. Anyway if we have any problems, we try to solve them peacefully, cause I am convinced that you need to find a common language with your neighbors otherwise life won't be sweet. LMFAO Nice plug under the lie of I am here to help from Thailand lol! This thread is gold. Re: Neighbours hot water solar panel 17Dec 17, 2020 5:28 pm Crumbs, maybe the Mods should just remove the whole thread. It seems to have run it's course and is now a spam magnet. I must say, I haven't seen the technique of posting and then coming back later to ad the spam link. That takes commitment. The funny thing is, the OP was complaining about solar HWS not solar PV panels. I suppose you don't let those small details get in the way of your spam.
