Help.
I laid some soft leaf buffalo mid April here in Melbourne (Covid lockdown project).
We laid sandy loam before and I followed the Fu routine with seasol, molasses and a little powerfeed.
The lawn seemed to take forever to start to bed in, my guess because it was towards the end of the warm weather and slowing down. It seemed to not be all that happy, I thought I wasn’t watering it enough.
As we entered May/June I’ve had a lot of die-off, figured it was maybe it’s now too wet so backed off the watering. Still slabs not bedded in.
I’m trying to leave it do it’s thing, some good signs of green under all the dead and healthy looking leaves in parts. Still more die off than I’d like to see.
What really winds me up is I miss calculated the amount required and the Mrs popped out to bunning to grab a couple of extra slabs, slightly different species being the Sir Walter and its doing great guns. Same routine etc.
Does anyone have any advice with what’s going on here? I’m trying really hard to avoid using any fungicide. I have “hopes and prayers” that come spring it’s going to take off.
