In the sketch below are two houses, owned by A and B respectively. A's house is partially double-storey and sits with its easterly wall on the boundary line (dotted, red) B wants to repaint his side of the fence (northern boundary) AND 'his' side of the boundary wall so that fence and wall have the same colour. The questions is now whether or not he is allowed to do this without A's permission. Does the wall on the boundary belong to A or does it belong to both (each owns one side of it)?
