Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 22, 2020 4:24 pm Hi All, I am hoping to get some recommendations or opinions on what I can do to my 200mm gap between my garage and the neighbours garage. The 200mm space is part of my land, which we fenced off by having our fence finish at our Garage walls since the neighbours garage was to be against this. Our gutter finishes in line with our boundry leaving only a small gap for rain to get through. I completely forgot about preparing this part of the land for drainage etc and our neighbours house is currently under construction (Bricking stage). Currently the gap is only accessible by our neighbours house since their garage has finished before ours. Therefore they seem to gain some land off us (not to fussed about this). Though the gap has got me worrying about drainage and other issues (pests etc). I have attached two photos below to help visual the issue. Grey stuff in the gap is brickie mortar dust from next door construction. Currently the ground in that gap is a brick below our weep holes. I was wondering, should I fill this area with something or even extend my fence to their garage so its accessible and easily monitored? I know I should of organised this beforehand.. Re: Zero boundary 200mm gap - Thoughts? 4Jan 29, 2021 2:15 am This happens a lot! I would have a small timber fence panel made up to close the gap, BUT installed so that is can be removed. You will get a lot of rubbish, leaves, dirt, paper balls etc accumulating in this area, it is also quite possible & probable dead animals, or even live! You need to make sure that the Builder/s clear this area of all rubble prior to completion, you do not want rubbish building up in this area especially when you cant inspect it! Once or twice a year remove the finish front fence panel and air blow & hose the area out to keep it clear! We are Expert Consultant's, and we are here to help. You must be new to the internet.
