Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 16, 2020 2:10 pm Hi, i built a brand new house in Melbourne west i was keep on getting some crack on my ceiling in the kitchen area and corners and 1 year later i saw a split in the 3 brick over garage door like 10MM wide no Zigzag. i notified my builder, they sent a Structural engineer to check, he has checked the level of the house and garage wall is lifted 30MM to 40MM. my site classification was E. The builder has blamed it on my landscaping saying that there is not enough slope and organised the drain check. after i got the drain report there is drain damage on 3 different places in the house which builder will fix also said the floor levels taken are within tolerance. and the the area (Roof Span) is in pressure. they want me fix my concreting around house which will set me behind $10000 at least. they will be monitoring the level every 3 months for 1 year to build up a data before they carry out any repair. I want to know how serious is this foundation movement levels are, as soon as they fix the drains i will fix the concrete around the house.
