Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 25, 2020 5:32 pm Hello. We have built a house in queenland and because it was our first home i have absolutely idea about these weep holes. So we had the handover inspections done and it was noted that 2 weepholes out the front of the house were partly covered when they concreted the driveway and front patio. Recommendation by the inspector were to check with the company who did the termite protection if it will cause issues. I have raised the issue with my builder and he said that they run a extra protection on it againts termite. So we moved in. After 6 months we did the pest inspection and i saw in the report that these can cause issues but nothing was mentioned about what is the proper way to fix it. Now im so worried stressed about it Can someone please advise if these 2 weepholes would cause a major issue in the future because i believe its my right to have it fixed by the builder if he need to knock and build that part including ripping the concrete driveway and front concrete rather than not sau a word and then i will have issues in the future Re: Weep holes party covered with front walkway 4Apr 26, 2020 4:49 am Its true that they should be away from the ground so you can see if termites have made a mudbridge into the wall cavity, but by having them partially covered it may also channel water into the wall cavity, stop the cavity from properly draining/drying out and also block ventilation.
