The cost really depends on what quality you want.
I have found the solar quotes website good value . . . https://www.solarquotes.com.au/

Yep, depends on quality.
But should average about $1 per watt. So a 5kW system would average slightly over $5,000. Not much more for the 6.6kW system, as it's a 5kW inverter (The expensive but, along with labour), with just a few more panels, which are cheap.
But it also depends on location. Although there's a federal rebate, some states offer additional rebates. Especially Victoria, where a 5kW system is about $3,500 I believe.
Difficult installations add to the cost a bit. Especially if you have shading, or require more than two orientations, as microinverters (which are more expensive) need to be used. Double storey roofs also add a bit to the cost.
Whirlpool's Green Tech forum is a great place to post queries about solar. Including of you want advice about how to choose a system, or want thoughts on the quotes you've received.
