Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 01, 2020 2:42 pm My builder Has paused the site work saying there is not enough depth for storm water pipes and he need to install pump to get the storm water connecting to LPOD using Pit and pump which he quoted me 8k as he says pipes will go below gerage and there is no other way to get it done. I have asked him to install as charge back system. 1. What are the other ways to get storm water pipes connected to LPOD without using pump as I understand in case of severe storm, first thing to go is electricity. 2. How much depth is required for LPOD as no other house in the street has pump installed it seems builder has stuffed up and asking me to cough up money to hide his mistake. Re: Storm water connection 2Apr 04, 2020 8:24 am What does your floorpan say in relation to the floor levels. They should be set at AHD... relative to the street and a benchmark there - all should be notated on your site plan, floor plan and elevations. If he has built the house lower than what it says on the plan then he is at fault. Your council may also not approve pump-out systems.Ours doesn't unless under extreme conditions and you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get one approved. If you don't understand what I am saying, post your plans here and we will be able to tell you. The engineering drawings should also have a couple of sheets detailing your stormwater design. Stewie Re: Storm water connection 3Apr 04, 2020 7:47 pm I think a pump would be the only way. $8K seems steep, but not sure on the extent and what was contracted. Depending on the quality of drawings this could be something easily missed early stages. No plumber quotes the works and calculates back to see if at the furthest point he will get enough fall. I'd get your builder to give you three quotes for the works before proceeding. Best of luck Registered Building - Always happy to help where I can and simply loves the game. Vinay2290 1. What are the other ways to get storm water pipes connected to LPOD without using pump as I understand in case of severe storm, first thing to go is electricity. Correct, it is far from ideal. The plans will show whether you can have a charged system but from your posted description, there is no way that you can't. You may need air gaps on the (pvc) downpipes and they would be your only possible added expense unless the council insists on a detention tank but that doesn't sound likely. 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Storm water connection 6Apr 05, 2020 12:21 am Plan attached - does it helps? Also checked with council they have advised there was enough fall on the block. Your builder might have deep cut done which caused level to mis match. How can I get this level info Confirmed From builder as I understand it should be builder’s responsibility to have levels worked out not mine. Yes charged system - builder said for downpipes he will have charged system and for surface drain he will have pit and pump as he will have split system. From your replies it seems I need to have pit n pump Is there any other way for storm drainage like adding more soil or concrete under waffle pod slab so it is bit higher and there will be enough fall for gravity fed pipes As slab thickness is 400mm Hello I am developing 2 side by side units.
