Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 26, 2020 9:17 pm It’s been a few years since we moved into our house. It’s time to tile our Al fresco... We are considering doing it ourselves or getting someone professional, but it all depends on the $$. It’s about 20 square meters (4 x 5), concrete slab and flat. - we have the tiles, but don’t know what, how much and how much $ of other materials required? - how much does labour cost, to get it done by licensed professionals? - it’s flat, but I found the corners leans towards the house/wall. Should we make the whole area flat or slightly tilt towards the backyard and away from the house? Thanks Re: How much does tiling cost? (Al fresco, concrete slab, ap 3Mar 27, 2020 10:18 am I just has my alfresco tiled (55m2), got a few quotes and they were all in the same ballpark. The guy I went with wasn't the cheapest but highly recommended Price per m2, varies depending on tile size Straight pattern $50-60 Brick pattern $65-70 French pattern $90 + $400 for materials You definitely want it to slope away from the house. Concrete tends to absorb water, whereas on tiles it will run and puddle Re: How much does tiling cost? He means was there reinforcing mesh steel in the slab when they poured the concrete. If not then the concrete will crack and move cracking all your tiles. Re: How much does tiling cost? That was in the ballpark of other quotes I got (but not the cheapest) and they did a good job 7 11880 i had the my concreters concrete right up to the fence.
