Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 24, 2020 2:06 pm Hey guys Does anyone know what the issue might be with our brick mortar? It’s only about 9 months old. It appears to be washing away at the base of our Brick pillars and house in some areas. It’s crumbles easily too. Many thanks! Re: Mortar Defects 6Mar 26, 2020 7:25 am Have you contacted the builder? It is best to be prepared. You can get mortar lab tested and doing a forum search using keywords like mortar, lab, test etc should raise a few threads that discuss these issues and costs etc. An initial search using only those three keywords suggested bought up the following threads: search.php?keywords=mortar+lab+test Maybe also measure the perpends, they had to be 10mm +/- 3mm the last I checked but that might have changed. Others can advise. Good luck. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Cleaner Neater Smarter Cheaper Supa Gutter Pumper. Put a bead of silicon around base to reduce further erosion. HTH Jessie2019 Hey guys Does anyone know what the issue might be with our brick mortar? It’s only about 9 months old.
