Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 16, 2020 7:07 pm I live in a hard annex attached to a caravan. The exterior roof of the annex is plasterboard (or similar) and it consists of 5 panels joined together. The entire roof measures 3 metres x 5 metres. It's very basic. When it rains the roof is leaking along the panel joins and also where the roof panels join the sides of the roof. Some previous owner has filled all the joins with various types of putty/filler material, but it's obviously an amateur job. I would get up on the roof and try to fix the problem, but my medical condition prevents me from doing that. Do you think a reasonable solution would be to simply hire a handyman to come and remove the current fillers along the joins and then apply watertight fillers that actually work? How much would such a job likely cost? I'm only seeking for the exterior panels of the roof to be sealed, not the interior panels. Thank you. Re: Exterior roof water leak problem. Sounds like a handyman job to me, he will need some quality sika flex silicone and go outside and seal up everything that may be causing the leak. Say $50 materials and a few hrs work. May charge $250?? Not sure on their rates. Good luck Registered Building - Always happy to help where I can and simply loves the game. The leaking appears to mainly happen when we turn the sink basins on. It takes a while… 0 5201 |
