Personally I prefer honed concrete in an alfresco anyway as it's easier to clean and kinder on bare feet. Maybe get an independent floor polishing company out first to let you know if a honed finish will be possible with what you have got there. If they think it will come up ok without pulling out to many stones then I'd try and pursue that from the builders. Re: Exposed Agg specialist 23Apr 19, 2020 11:32 am It all depends on size and the amount of hand finish required. I would think somewhere in the $30-$60 dollar per M² range. It should be cheaper than tiles and as long as the existing concrete is going to be ok for it will give you a great finish. My concern for you is if it would pull to many stones from the surface. But your polishers should be able to tell when they have a look. You essentially get the exposed agg look in a smooth non slip finish. The guys I do formwork for do heaps of this around swimming pools and alfresco's and it always looks great.
