Hi all, nice forum you have here.
We are looking to get a deck installed off the back of our mid 50's Brisbane home. We have had conflicting stories from builders regarding the roof height from the deck - 2 builders saying with the height we want the deck, we would need to have a fly-over roof to get the minimum distance. Others have said having the roof coming straight off the eaves would be fine.
I am trying to find where the specs would be located for the minimum height requirements, however cannot find where this information would be. Could someone point me in the right direction, or give me some information re the above ?

you woudn't want any point lower than 7 ft / 2100mm. Its quite ok to go off the eaves on a house with 8ft ceilings and run it down to 7ft at the gutter. You may want to check for any council variations up there in Bris-vegas though.
