We are looking to get a deck installed off the back of our mid 50's Brisbane home. We have had conflicting stories from builders regarding the roof height from the deck - 2 builders saying with the height we want the deck, we would need to have a fly-over roof to get the minimum distance. Others have said having the roof coming straight off the eaves would be fine. I am trying to find where the specs would be located for the minimum height requirements, however cannot find where this information would be. Could someone point me in the right direction, or give me some information re the above ? Thanks Graham Re: Minimum distance from deck floor to roof ? 2Dec 30, 2006 9:40 pm The building department of your local council should be able to tell you- Also tell them to send that in writing, just in case.
