Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 11, 2020 11:42 am Hi, we were encouraged to have a pre DA meeting with council. I was Ok with that, in November, It was suggested that an amount of $800 would cover it. I was astounded to receive a variation to the amount of $2040. I questioned that, & it has been revised down to $1340. We also need a flood report & have been quoted $1975 from H&H. Has anyone else needed one, & who supplied it? Re: Pre council meeting 2Feb 11, 2020 12:21 pm You are far better off organising your own Council Meetings and Reports ie Geotech, Survey, Site, Engineering, BAL, Stormwater, Energy, Flood, etc,etc OT and while you are at it have do your own design and select 3 builder to quote Anything below the ground is unforeseen...Often referred to as the Money Pit You haven't even started yet .... what an awful experience Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Pre council meeting 3Feb 11, 2020 9:09 pm You should be able to engage a hydraulics engineer locally and get a quote from them. Whether H & H will let you use someones else is another matter and they may want to use one of their consultants only. I have been involved half a dozen times with local councils concerning pre-lodgement meetings and they have all been pretty much a waste of time. They will usually only tell you the council guidelines which you or your draftee/architect would know anyway. The town planners are very conscious of official policy and don't like to stick their necks out so are very non-committal. The council engineers on the other hand seem to be a lot better to deal with but they are usually only concerned with structural & hydraulic matters. Good luck. Just the way it is. 1 5607 Just to makea point about this, an approach that some people have found sucessful in negotiating these rises down, Is to provide some workings to the builder, specifying… 4 64586 |
