Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 09, 2020 4:19 pm Hi, first timer here. Was wondering if anyone could suggest the plan of attack in regards to addressing roofing problem (see attached photos). This mostly noticeable from certain angles outside. Didn't find any obvious cause of this inside I guess.. I should admit I have a very rough idea on what kind of specialist does what. Do I need carpenter or roof restorator? Should I call some sort of building inspector for assessment and ask them for advice? Any suggestions on what may need to be done here and may be a ball park estimation on what it could be cost wise (Brisbane)? Also, if anyone is willing to share a reliable someone dealing with similar sort of problem (giving the rules of this forum permit this) I would greatly appreciate! Re: Advise on sagging roof 2Feb 25, 2020 8:54 pm Its noticeable, but not by much get an inspection done by a reputable independent inspector and if required a structural engineer. Unless htere is noticeable failing of that particular truss, I doubt anyone would recommend anything. FWIW it is a pre made element and whilst a carpenter would be required to install a new one, it would need to be made prior to that (off site) Re: Advise on sagging roof 3Feb 26, 2020 7:41 pm Thanks for reply! I was thinking to get a building inspection as the first step. Will see how it goes.. On a side note, would it normally be OK after fixing that sort of defect hopefully without replacing truss to put solar on top? I understand there are multiple variables involved, but as a general rule.. I am looking for someone who might have tackled a similar issue as me. I have a few rendered interior walls, the surface condition is hardly flat. I can see all the bumps… 0 5731 Thank you Pulse, I thought we did the right things; external shutters on all windows down all day, west side of the house nearly completely in the shadow of the large two… 6 25111 |
