Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 06, 2020 10:28 am Hi,
The block next to ours have cut their site approx 1.5m - 2m lower then us and are yet to install a retaining wall (their build is currently at frame stage). Being that our entire estate is newly excavated, there has been a tiny bit of dirt already erode away due to recent rains. With the predicted rain in our area (over 200mm in 5 days), we believe there will be further erosion. To make matters worse, their builder has decided to lean their windows against the cut and there has been noone on site to remove them. I've tried calling the builder to no avail, i've sent a few text messages, but i'm afraid that they will forgo any responsibility and blame their client. Has anyone been in a similar situation and can provide some insight on what to do next, what we can actually do if something does go wrong? You might get a bit of erosion in heavy rain but no big deal - they'll need to clean it up when they build the retaining wall. there is a standard besser block wall pdf somewhere online with footing sizes, also have a look at dincel. 1 2883 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5142 Thanks for the insights, that makes perfect sense, and yeah, I will be leaning on the experience of the excavator operator entirely. 6 16105 |
